Breaking the rules

Yesterday I boasted about saving space by buying books for the Kindle. Then I went out (just because it wasn’t raining) and in the first charity shop I looked in, found the books below, BOGOFF. Bluestockings I’ve been wanting to read for ages and have already started. The Julian Barnes I’ve read, borrowed from the library. It’s so good (and short) that I want to read it again. The great find was the Mrs Malory books by Hazel Holt. They are the second and seventh books in the series and I’ve read neither of them. What a treat in store. These are US editions, which I’d never seen before.

By lunchtime it was teeming with rain again.

I read Bluestockings last year and really, really enjoyed it.
I'm enjoying it already!
At least you got a bargain :)

It's very sunny and bright here today, thank goodness. I keep falling asleep when the weather is dreary!
They were cheaper than the Kindle books!

Yesterday afternoon was dreadful: rain, wind and a domestic crisis requiring a man in. Thank goodness for my lovely builders.
Today, beautiful weather!
When you come to read Bluestockings, look out for the remarkable story of Trixie Pearson; (I was a pupil of hers.)
How interesting! She's already been mentioned and as you say, hers is a remarkable story. It's nice to know she handed on the torch :-)
A very nice selection!
I was pleased! Typically, I went around all the other shops and found nothing.
