Many, many welcomes, February fair-maid,

Many, many welcomes,
February fair-maid,
Ever as of old time,
Solitary firstling,
Coming in the cold time,
Prophet of the gay time,
Prophet of the May time,
Prophet of the roses,
Many, many welcomes,
February fair-maid!

Alfred, Lord Tennyson

My snowdrops are on a bank on the far side of the garden, which is currently sodden. Much better to get up close and personal. The old green bottle was dug up in my previous garden.

Yay for snowdrops! What a great find the old green bottle was. I wonder what it was in it's former life?
Indeed! They've all opened now and smell so sweet.

Medicine? Who knows, but I've hung on to it for years.

Snowdrops

Simply stunning photograph!

Re: Snowdrops

Thank you!

I think your pretty bottle is an old ink bottle. The lovely colour sets off the snowdrops to perfection!
It could indeed be. People pay a lot for modern copies!

Thank you, I thought they went well together.
Lovely!

It does look like an old apothecary bottle. I used to have one complete with stopper.
Thank you!

Stoppers are rare! I've often seen boxes of old bottles for sale (I've no room for more) and they never have stoppers.
