Painting the Town

I wrote here about the terrible fire which nearly destroyed three old buildings here and left the town without a post office for seventeen weeks! Just before Christmas the surrounding boards were cheered up by some jolly murals, supposed to represent the spirit of the town.

I risked life and limb yesterday standing in the middle of the road to take some more photos

The Minster Church and one of several bridges plus swans.

The annual Folk Festival.

Sketching Kingston Lacy House (National Trust). Sorry it’s blurred, as is the following one.

Home of local lord of the manor, with peacock. These peacocks think they own the place and are often seen on rooftops or holding up traffic in the road.
