Found in Books 3: Money

Not the sort you can spend, unfortunately. This is Allied Military Currency, for the use of troops in Italy after 1943.

The back has scanned badly. It’s printed with the Four Freedoms: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, Freedom from Fear. I wonder what the chaps bought with the notes?

What an incredible find! Regardless of value, it's still a little slice of someone's history and it just goes to show just how much good comes out of books!

Right! I don't think they're worth anything, just interest.
Great find! I'm wondering what the lira was worth at the time. Hopefully more than in the 'seventies, not much you could buy for 7 lire then. :-)
Hee, very true.
But you didn't tell us which book!
Sorry, I can't remember! I've been saving these things for a while now.
