There's a polar bear behind you!



Yesterday we managed to start on the Christmas cake, decorated as usual with the antique family snowbabies. The temperature yesterday morning was -12 and there was ice on the inside of the bathroom windows, a thing I haven't seen since living in an unheated house as a child. huskyteer and I were delighted with all our presents. I was thrilled that she gave me the Puffin Postcard Box and a signed copy of Michael Frayn's My Father's Fortune, which I'm enjoying already.

Today? I think there's a thaw! Unfortunately it's not forecast to last. Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday, everybody.

PS I see that LJ's new system of making photos bigger means that sometimes you only get half the picture unless you click on it.
