
It’s been ages since I did one of these posts. I was up very early so decided to go down to the market. There were lots of sellers today; very few people wore masks but only the outside area is open. The last time I went, a few weeks ago, I came away with nothing. Today, because this is the way it always works, I’d hardly been there ten minutes before I was staggering under my load of purchases and had almost reached the limit of my self-imposed spending limit.
I got all the children’s books shown above; I can’t emphasise enough how hard it is these days to find this sort of thing. I also got a Daisy Dalrymple title I haven’t read and a book for

Silver Snaffles has been described as the best pony book ever written. I’ve never read it, so I’m looking forward to it. I learn from Jane Badger’s wonderful site that this copy is the 1960 reprint. I love the pictures by Stanley Lloyd, who illustrated the Malory Towers books.
